League Concept
League of Legends is the game I play the most and understand well. Therefore, when given exercises, I often choose League as the subject.
In 2022, I developed a concept for a champion, and a year later, I discovered a software that proved to be useful for visualizing a significant amount of data
What I did
What I learned
-
Designing a champion with a unique identity
-
Replicating the layout of the official League website
-
Analyzing champion identity and role
-
How to work through tasks in a systematic manner
-
Making decisions that align with initial intentions
-
Uncovering many small details about League
Creating a new champion
For the concept, I opted to create an enchanter support, as it's a role I frequently play. To craft a new champion, I did some research on roles and lanes in League, focusing primarily on enchanter supports. During the design phase, I explored various directions and initially believed all ideas had potential. However, I eventually decided to give the champion a unique identity—a distinctive twist that would set them apart from other supports. Once I identified these key points and intentions it helped me from getting lost in the design, making the creation more efficient.
After I finished the design I wanted to present it like famous League site, frist the official league website and then a wiki (or guide) of the champion
A problem with numbers
While doing the concept I struggled to get the data I needed and visualize them. A year later I discovered Tableau software for data visualization, I decided to use it and make a chart with all based statistics. It’s far from being perfect and usable, but I got to learn Tableau and see how powerful it is.
